Whole System Change
At the heart of our work is the shared belief that regular and sustainable physical activity brings enormous benefits to everyone's lives. We want sport and physical activity to be recognised for the positive impact it has through improved physical and mental wellbeing, educational attainment, social cohesion and economic development on the lives of the people in Dorset.
A collaborative approach is fundamental to achieving this. We work with partners across the county, seeking system changes so that physical activity is embedded in the business of our partners and it becomes the norm for them to support people to be more active.
Our 2020-25 strategy places system change at the centre of our approach to increasing physical activity levels in Dorset.

Our Business Plan
2021/22 continued to see growing health inequalities as our communities most in need continued to be the most impacted by the pandemic and economic pressures. Active Dorset and our partners through multiple interventions worked collaboratively, creatively and quickly to seek to stem this direction of travel.
